The Rofanbahn cable car, just 5 minutes away, takes you to the family ski area of the same name, which will delight you with its 11 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes and unique natural scenery. Families, pleasure skiers and beginners will find ideal conditions here to learn to ski or improve their skills.

The Christlum ski area in Achenkirch am Achensee also offers wide pistes for all ability levels and impressive views of the snow-covered landscape between the mountain and lake. Christlum is also a popular destination for snowboarders, as its own snow park with various obstacles is a real hit for freestylers

Especially with its extensive cross-country skiing offer, the area around Lake Achensee has made a name for itself among winter sports fans and has become one of the most popular cross-country skiing trails in Tyrol.

Around 200 kilometers of cross-country trails allow for almost unlimited cross-country skiing fun.

Classic trails and skating trails

The cross-country ski trail network begins just 500 metres away, offering you more than 200 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails in classic and skating technique.

The Achensee region and the Karwendel mountains are considered one of the best cross-country skiing areas in Tyrol and offer a variety of trails for all ability levels - from flat trails for beginners to challenging routes for advanced skiers.

The cross-country ski trail from Hinterriss into the Karwendel Nature Park, which has been awarded the cross-country ski trail seal of approval, is particularly popular, leading through unspoilt nature and offering fantastic views of the surrounding mountain peaks.

The panoramic trail on the lakeshore is also a highlight, as it offers a breathtaking backdrop with a constant view of the glistening Achensee. For a particularly challenging workout, there are also five high-altitude trails available at Lake Achensee.

Snow lovers can roam through the Karwendel Nature Park on snowshoes, or on foot, or prefer to go tobogganing on one of the great toboggan-runs.

At Lake Achensee, visitors have many opportunities to enjoy the cold season. For example, doing laps at the ice-skating rink or trying curling for the first time.
